Clayton Brinster, MD, FACS

Dr. Brinster will join the Section of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy at UChicago Medicine as Associate Professor of Surgery and Director, Center for Aortic Diseases in 2023. His practice focuses on complex endovascular aortic surgery and on urgent carotid surgery, specifically on the development of multi-specialty protocols for the diagnosis and treatment of carotid web.

He obtained his medical degree and completed a residency in general surgery at the University of Pennsylvania and later a fellowship in vascular and endovascular surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital. Dr. Brinster gained specialized endovascular aortic training at the Hospital Cliníc in Barcelona, Spain, and Klinikum Nurnberg in Nurnberg, Germany before starting the Ochsner Aortic Center at Ochsner Health in New Orleans, Lousiana.
