Roshan Panda, BS is currently an incoming third-year medical student (class of 2025) at the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR Med), working with Dr. Benjamin Brooke from the University of Utah. His research at the University of Utah focuses on understanding healthcare disparities in vascular diseases, such as aortic dissection, traumatic aortic injury, atrioventicular fistulas, peripheral arterial disease, and limb amputation. He also conducts quality improvement research in Reno on vascular disease and cardiac valve replacement therapy. He was the previous leader for the Medical Research Association at UNR, where he helped created resources for medical students, hosted a school-wide poster presentation session, and mentored students on beginning systematic reviews and quality improvement research. His goal as a physician is to improve the quality of life of patients through compassionate care and effective research.
