Dr. Weaver is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the University of Virginia where she acts as the Associate Program Director of the vascular surgery fellowship and Clinical Director of the limb salvage program. She has a strong interest in education research and is a member of the APDVS Entrustable Professional Activities workgroup, Associate Editor for VSCORE, DEI Editorial Fellow for the journal Global Surgical Education, and has been recognized with numerous teaching awards including the Anthony Imbembo Teaching Award, Outstanding Junior and Senior Resident Teaching Awards, and induction in the Distinguished Teaching Society all at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She is working towards obtaining a Masters in Health Professions Education. She serves SVS as co-chair of the Young Surgeons Section Research Workgroup. She has a background in economics and other research interests include applying behavioral economics theories to understand motivations behind physician behavior, as well as workforce and healthcare disparities work.
