Steven Abramowitz, MD, serves as Chairman of the Department of Vascular Surgery at MedStar Washington Hospital Center and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and is the Executive Director of the MedStar Regional Vascular Program. He is an active member of the Society for Vascular Surgery, American Venous Forum, Eastern Vascular Surgery Society and Society of Clinical Vascular Surgery.. As a vascular surgeon, he specializes in the treatment of aortic disease including aneurysms and dissection, venous occlusive disease, carotid artery disease, and peripheral arterial disease including critical limb ischemia and claudication through the use of endovascular and open surgical techniques.
Dr. Abramowitz received his medical degree from the Yale University School of Medicine. He then completed his residency in integrated vascular surgery at the Mount Sinai Medical Center before joining MedStar Washington Hospital Center.
