Dr. Fred Arthur Weaver is a Professor of Surgery at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California (USC). Dr. Weaver received his B.S. and M.D. degrees from the University of Southern California, and his General and Vascular Surgery training at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. At USC, he has served as Program Director for General Surgery, and later for Vascular Surgery. Dr. Weaver received his Masters in Medical Management from USC in 2005. He is Chief of the Division of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy, Chief of Vascular Surgery at Keck Hospital of USC, and Chief of Staff of Keck Medical Center of USC, 2019-2021. He is certified by the American Board of Surgery in General and in Vascular Surgery.
Dr. Weaver is past President of the Western Vascular Society, Pacific Coast Surgical Association and Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery. In 2015, he received the Society for Vascular Surgery Presidential Citation Award. Dr. Weaver is an Associate Editor for the Journal of Vascular Surgery, on the Editorial Board of Annals of Vascular Surgery, and serves as the Chair of the Society for Vascular Surgery/Vascular Quality Initiative. He has been recognized as a Top, Best, and Super Doctor by various local and national publications. He has published over 250 articles, and 50 textbook chapters and has been an invited speaker at numerous regional, national and international meetings. His major clinical and research interests concern the diagnosis and management of diseases affecting the aorta and its major branches.
