I am an Associate Professor of Vascular Surgery at the University of Utah, where I serve as Program Director for the Vascular Surgery Fellowship and Vice Chair of Education for the Department of Surgery. I completed my MD at the University of Wisconsin, followed by integrated vascular surgery residency there.
I subsequently obtained a Master of Health Professions Education from the University of Illinois - Chicago. My academic career is dedicated to surgical education and my research focuses on examining the association between educational variables, including programs, policies, and individual measures of competence, and patient care outcomes in unsupervised practice. My clinical practice includes the full breadth of vascular surgery, with a specific interest in complex venous disease, including compressive syndromes and pelvic venous insufficiency.
