Dr. Lavingia graduated with honors from The University of Virginia in 2004 and completed medical school at the Medical College of Virginia 2011. He completed his general surgery residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk, VA in 20117. Dr. Lavingia then went on to complete his vascular surgery fellowship at Stanford University. He also spent time in China completing an advanced aortic fellowship in 2019.
Dr. Lavingia’s research interests include outcomes of catheter-based interventions compared to open surgery, outcomes after sports based pathology in athletes, imaging surveillance after endovascular aneurysm repair, and the application of endovascular technologies to thoracic and thoracoabdominal aneurysms.
He has published multiple peer reviewed journal articles in high impact publications. He has authored multiple book chapters as well. He is a member of the Sothern Association of Vascular Surgery, Vascular and Endovascular Surgical Society, and the Society of Vascular Surgery.
